Rough upper dash trim normal or defective?

My finish also feels a little coarse in that area too.. I can't see it just being due to a cheap paint job. It's awfully coincidental that everyone has it in the same sport and none of he other silver trim feels that way.

I thought it could be to prevent glare from the clock/DTE/fuel economy display.

i went and just checked mine.. textured also... hmm.. would have never known that..

I noticed it shortly after buying my '13 TE. I just assumed it was anti slip in case you shove your phone/wallet etc in there.

That's what I thought too.

Most likely easy fix for simple post development issue (sun glare). All TE models have it, it's fine. Don't worry about it.
