Royal purple HP and torque gains claimed on Xtreme 4x4

So I'm watching a recorded episode of Xtreme 4x4 (trekking Tacoma part 3) and they did a test to show gains from switching to RP fluids.

They took a Tahoe with factory synthetic fluids, ran dynos, swapped every fluid for RP and ran more dynos. They showd gains of +7 HP and +6 lb/ft.

Who believes this? The fluid they took out looked pretty dirty. I wonder what gains they would have seen if they had replaced everything with original fluids. I know my t4r seems to have more power after changing fluids and I haven't switched off of the Toyota stuff.

Thoughts?

I hate that show. I only watch for the fab work.

I was assuming they were going to do the oil swap on the Tacoma which would have be interesting. Then the tahoe came in and I lost interest.

Agreed though, who knows how old the oils were in that vehicle and I've always noticed my vehicles are happier after an oil change.

Yea I don't like the show but I love seeing what they do and get a few tips from time to time. They basically have a 30 minute commercial for various products. I can't take their recommendations seriously.

Deff nothing to excited over regarding the claims, I've modded LS platforms for over 10 years and everyone knows you don't go and dyno on old oil :lmao:

Replacing old drive train fluids will full synthetic along with the engine oil will always free up some hp especially if you do it all at the same time.

Anyone doing this would get the same results from Royal Purple, Redline, Amsoil and so on.
