I have a '92 2nd Gen 4Runner. The tires on it right now measure 235/75R15. Does that mean that the stock rims are 15" 's? I was wondering what the biggest size tire I could throw on there would be without adding a lift or rubbing. Also I'm looking for a wider tire cause I think it looks baddass when the tire sticks out further than the chassis. Main use would be road driving as well as off-roading such as climbing hills. Would you guys also recommend I upgrade my stock rims? Any comments would be appreciated.

Hey there,

I have some 31x10.50 tires on my '94 and I absolutely love them. They give the car a real beefy stable look. If you can afford it, by all means get the updated rims. Sorry I don't have a front view of the car, but the 31s do stick out.

The 31x10.5 ones. How do they look? I'm planning to throw them onto the stock rims to save some money.

A 32x11.50-15 if you want wider (although you should probably use a 7" rim rather than your stock 6"ers), or 33x10.50-15 if you want tall.

Generally, people run into rubbing problems trying to run 33x12.50-15.

I am running 34x9.50-15's on the trail. I had to hammer the pinch weld behind the front tires. No fender rub.
