I completly agree. I was just trying to talk 4runners and tires and well someone got bent out of shape b/c i got a gift and now all this. I was just trying to defend myself a little. The whole thing pisses me off but I will try to be mature about it ( even though that might be pretty hard since I didn't pay for my 4runner so I'm completly clueless about that) That's the last thing I'll say.:yesyes:

Hey, faster4runner04 I got bashed and sterotyped on my first post here. I don't understand, if someone don't have anything good to say then don't post. Same reason I joined this forum was to talk with other people with 4runners. Most people here are pretty cool, hope you like the new tires.

hope u like the new tires and let us know what there are like, i decided to go with 285/70/17 bfg a/t's and i just noticed the nittos the other day on a f150 and they looed pretty cool and im very curious how they do off the pavement

I have Nittos too and I love them. I've had them for about 5,000 miles so far and they handle great. I've done some serious off-roading with them and they handle great. I've actually gotten through some tough spots that earlier generation 4Runners and Tacos had to be towed through, and I just walked through them. They handle very well in the snow. I frequently have to drive in fresh snow before the plows get out and I've had nothing but great handling with them. They are solid on dry roads as well. Are they noiser? I'm sure they are, but I can't really hear them over the K&N FIPK and Magnaflow exhaust anyway

I would DEFINITELY recommend these tires. I've never had Revos, and I'm sure they are a great tire too, but Nittos are definitely cheaper and they are rated just as well- see Consumer reports, where Nittos beat out the Revos in a recent issue. (someone posted a link about the article on this board- do a search)

Yea they are a but nosier but i usually have the radio up so i can't really hear it.
I had some Bfgs on my 99 runner and I like them alot but they were like 175 a piece so I decided againist. I think we have finally come to a agreement around here about tires. Revos, Nittos, and Bfgs are all great tires just take your pick.
I will keep y'all updated as they get more miles on them but so far so good

This is one tough place!!

One thing I've learned, there's always going to be people who have had more than you and those that have had less.

I got my Nitto's installed last Friday at a Discount Tire in Dallas at 146 per tire. Tax and install included.

I like the ride and you do feel a slight loss of power but nothing big. Should be getting my OME suspension via UPS on Thurs.

My Nittos seemed a little noisy when they first went on but after a couple thousand miles I think they've quieted a bit or I'm just used to them.
I've been mostly impressed with their grip on slick surfaces and they kick butt in the rain.

If you want to talk about tough life, then take a look at my life growing up, but do I hold that against anyone? HELL NO. .

Now I have a younger brother, and I am the oldest in the family. I am 31 years old and my brother is 17 and I have two sisters. I own a 1995 Lexus GS 300 touring before I bought my 05 4runner sport. I know that my brother is doing extremely well in college, so instead of trading the lexus in for the 4runner, I GAVE HIM THE CAR. Why? because he is a damn good kid, he does not expect anything and I certainly don't want him to have the problems that I had in college.

So now he does not have to worry about how he is going to get around in college. He does not have to worry about a car payment. I am even going to help my mother and step dad pay for him to go to school.

The point is, most parents want their children to have it better than they did. That does not make a child spoiled, in my eyes it makes that child blessed that they have people in their lives that can afford to do those types of things for them.

Does my brother have it better than I did, YES, am I upset because of that HELL NO. .. I am more than happy to do for him because I know what it was like to want something but not being able to have it because our family could not afford it.

So step off your platform for those of you beating up on this kid and think about how happy he is for receiving such a great gift and how happy his family was for being able to do this for him. ..

I must side with faster4Runner in this discussion and I am proud of the way he has handled himself. I have 2 grown kids that I wish I could do more for but both have done very well for themselves. They both have college degrees, great jobs, married wonderful spouses and have blessed us with beautiful grandkids. Oh, did I mention that we bought each of them a car to take to college, albeit not brand new ones.
That act didn't spoil them or make them unappreciative. They seen it for what it was, a gift of love from loving parents trying to help them succeed in life. You see, Olliebear, neither my wife or I are college grads but are factory workers. My kids grew up in an environment that taught them what hard work is, that respect is earned not demanded.
It sounds like faster4Runner's dad is just showing his appreciation to a son that didn't expect this gift but honors his father by accepting it with a grateful attitude.

Hope to see pics of the tires soon. I don't think I'll leave these Duelers on for long. Do they make the Nitto's in a 265/60/18 to fit the Limited?

Your truck looks great...almost identical to mine (except I have removed my running boards).

Your pic has convinced me to go blackwall-out on my next tire purchase. Obviously not a decision that needs to be made with the Nittos though...

Did you buy a 5th tire for your spare? I can't decide whether to get four Revos (265/65) or five Nittos (265/70). Either way, it would end up costing about the same. Problem is, its tough to find Nittos around here, and for some reason, I'm not crazy about ordering them online and having them delivered.
