Running Around's Mod log

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I really can't wait to get new tires. I painted the tires myself. I used Duplicolor Black. Primed then painted. No problems!

I can't believe it's been soo long since I updated this thread. I really didn't do any more mods since the last pics, other than new tires. I also put the running boards back on. I couldn't stand my two little ones not being able to get in on their own. One day they'll be back off. I got the Runner nice and shiny inside and out today though, so couldn't resist taking pics. My new Black Widow Rack is on it's way to my house as we speak. I'll post more pics once the rack is on. I can't wait. Here are the latest:

RunningAround, can you tell me what and how you got the LED's on the interior? Was it easy? Do you have a link to what I would need and what I need to do? That looks awesome!

I did notice a little bit of power loss with the 31's, but then I changed the spark plugs and now it's back to normal, so I can't specifically blame it on the 31's. My next tires will definitely be 32's or 33's though. These are bigger, but def. not as big as I would like. The 31's look good for now though.

I did the LED upgrade after reading through this link:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showt...=35104&perpage=15&highlight=led&pagenumber=20

I ordered my bulbs from here:
http://www.ledlight.com/

It was a very easy upgrade. I used 3 74's in the dash, 2 74's in the HVAC and 1 194 in the gear shifter. I need to get some updated photos, because currently all my lights are finished in blue LED.

so what size bfgs are those? and did you get a pretty level ride with your life? also how does the daystar ride?

Which 74s did you use from that site? Any dead spots after installation? Pics would be great!

I went with the 31" BFG A/T's. The lift levels the truck out pretty well. If anything it sits just a tad lower in front. I can def. feel the bumps a little more, but it's nothing that bothers me or my family. I came from a Jeep Wrangler, so I guess I'm used to the bumps. Overall I would say it's still pretty smooth.

The 74's I went with are these:

They spread the light really well. There are absolutely no dead spots. I couldn't be happier with the way they look. I'll get pics tonight once it gets dark.

Great, thanks! Can't wait for the pics!

I need some 24s too, but I didn't see them on their site....I emailed them to see if they had them.

I'm terrible at taking night shots, but I think this should at least give you an image to go off. I took a close up of the guage cluster so you can see the coverage. I also intalled an aftermarket pioneer deck with blue lighting to match. Hope this helps!

Looks awesome man....one of the better jobs I have seen with the LEDs..and you are right, I don't see any dead spots.

Clemson, here are the lights he used. I am going to order some too. Let me know if you find any size 24 LEDs on there or any of the Neo-Type A (8mm)....I can't find them on that site.

Thanks guys. I was really pleased with the outcome as well. I forgot to mention that they key ring and ash tray light also takes a #74.

This took some trial and error as I went through the original LED thread on here. I ordered too many 194's and not enough 74's. Turned out I only used 1 194 and 5 74's. No 24's in my rig.

I hadn't heard much on this forum about Ledlight.com, but I have had nothing but good experience with them. Decent prices and super fast shipping. All bulbs they sent me were working and still are. Absoultely no complaints. Not sure if they carry the neo wedges or 24's though. Good luck and anyone let me know if they have anymore questions!

Haha...I just called Ledlights. The lady had no idea what Neo-Wedge Type A LEDs were.

And she said for the size 24 automotive LEDs I needed to know what kind of base they had. Any ideas?
