You're not going crazy as I noticed this as well. I actually prefer the looks of the Canadian running boards posted in the other thread over the ones being offered through ebay. I had originally thought the the owner of the Canadian Limited model had peeled the top rubber strip off of the board for some reason. It would be nice if we could get one of our Canadian friends to ID the difference in the running boards in this post .

Found the (2010 SR5) 4Runner running boards
Received my 2010 4runner running boards part # 00016-89035 today which I bought on Ebay from Dyer Toyota $276.99 ($55.00 shipping). Really nice aluminum with black rubber material on top. Simple instructions with no drilling or modification just 12 bolts each side. These are manufactured by Southeast Toyota Distributors which is the leading distributor of Toyota parts and accessories in the U.S. Check them out on the web you will be surprised! These running boards are the same ones you see in the pictures posted on this thread. see link below.

I get my running boards next week and got them from the same place (looks like they shipped out today). What tools were needed to put them on?
About 5 Days.
13mm socket wrench (regular and deep socket). I also used a 12mm socket on removing a couple of the factory bolts from the front bracket where the 13mm socket kept slipping. Oh yeah, and a torque wrench, all bolts need to be tightened to 10 ft/lbs. I didn't use one though, just secured those bolts as tight as I could get.

Not many of us that owned past Gen. 4Runners stepped up to the 5th's yet. I'm with you in that it is a definite upgrade if your not towing big things.Lovin' mine!:cheers:
You need to post some pics of the mounting points. I might start searching the junk yards tomorrow.Get some and have them powdercoated black.I wish I would have saved mine from my Sport,good thinking. Any locals have some for sale? the price probably just went way up!!

Thanks! I do like the majority of the changes from the 4th gen to the 5th. My father(a former 3 time 4R owner) and I both agree the 2010 looks more rugged and less crossover like compared to my past 2003 & 2006 Sports. He said coming down the road behind him, the truck looked like it was sitting up real high like some lifted truck especially with the higher headlights on
Ya, I am glad I took mine off before trading it in. I just don't like the ones I am seeing coming from Toyota for the 2010's, they look like they came straight out of 1985. As for the mounting points, it was easy, the bolts were already in place just under the lip of the door. No drilling required, if it were not for the TE mudflaps, these tubes would have fit just as they did on my 2006. Look under and you will see 6 silver bolts along the sides, the front 2 are sperated more while the back two locations are very close together.
If you still need pics, let me know. I would try and find some Sport tubes if you can, paint them black, and they would look sweet!

Those bolt holes are what the brackets for the rocker panels are bolted to on the Limited/SR5's I believe.I just went and looked, 6 holes right.So I don't know if it will work without some more modding with the rocker panels.My rocker panels are coming off anyways as I have the TE mudflaps to put on .I'm looking for some 4th Sport tubed running boards then until the sliders are available from Shrock Works.
Any 4th Gen Sport owners who have any laying around just PM me.I also posted a WTB on Craigslist for them and will check the junkyard search websites tomorrow.

You are right, thats why the holes are there on my TE......not being used unlike the SR5 & limited. I was not a big fan of the lower rocker panels on those models as much anyway. It takes away from the high sitting offroad look in my opinion. Are you removing the fender flares as well or just the lower rocker panels?

I'm leaving the fender flares.They are just going to be body color silver with the mudflaps remaining black..I have new front and rear flares for a TE that are going to paint this week.
Yes, I agree that without the rocker panels on the TE's that it gives the illusion that it's sitting alot higher.
