I would love to see a pic of 5th Gen 4Runner with "Sportsman 1-Piece Grille Guard with Headlight Guards" on it.

If anyone goes for it, please post pics.

Photoshop'ers out there?:) That, and the Shrockworks front end, which I still think looks wicked on a black truck. Big credit to anyone that can 'shop that.

Big thanks for the posts on what options are out there for the front end.

Wow, prefer the WAAG much more. Checked out the Romik site, pretty much the same type of gear you would find with other bullguards of that style. Had a set of WAAG front and rear on my last, very nice fit and quality. Just seems as though the company does lag behind in fitments for new vehicles though. Too bad, would have already bought a set if they were available.
I'll have to contact WAAG as well to get things moving (yeah, Im "sure" the ball is moving because of a couple emails.)
 
Running Boards

Using info fm Ralphpit, PUK, and TheDude I ordered RB's from e-bay, item 250563104283, Toyota number 00016-89035). They come from SE Toyota Distribution through Dyer Toyota in Colombia, SC. Placed my order Monday late and Thursday early they were sitting in my driveway. Price was good - 276.99 plus 55 shipping, however I live just above the state line in NC.

Put them on today, piece of cake!! Completed the job under an hour. Instructions were good but you don't need half the bolts they supply. You take out the bolts holding the rocker panels on, place the new brackets OVER the rocker brackets and put the bolts back (12mm socket). Slide 6 bolts into the channels on the board and drop it onto the brackets making sure the rubber filler strip is behind the rocker panel. Put the nuts on the bolts (1/2in socket), postion the board as directed and tighten down. I did remove the plastic air deflector close to the back end of board even though it didn't look like a problem. They look great and my wife gave them her stamp of approval.

Am not including pictures since there are enough on this site, and believe me it is one of the easiest jobs you'll ever do for such a major improvement.

I still haven't heard back from WAAG and I emailed them like a week or two ago. I agree - I really like the WAAG front runner over the Romik.

Emailed them as well - same day I posted the WAAG comment (have not heard back.) Not expecting much, but never can hurt to make a request for 2010 version. You never know.
 
Request

I am looking for an 'edge-on' view of the SE Toyota Running Boards on a SR5 or LE. I did a quick glance back through the thread and did not see one. If someone would not mind taking a quick photo of their 4R from the side, but from the height of the running boards, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
 
i still havent heard back from anyone here. Any ideas on removing the lower rocker panels and using an OEM style running/rocker board like on new lexus gx460. I personally dont like the way these running boards look. I think the way the fender flares merged with running board on 3rd generations was the bomb!
 
Anyone know who carries the westin side step bars. I like the ones on ebay for the wife's car but want to shop it. I clicked a bunch of the more popular weblinks on Westin website but no luck.

I kind of agree with you. I looked at getting the retractable running boards. Even though they don't make them specifically for the 4Runner, a local company said they could make it work. They quoted me $1500 installed. I really like the concept and my neighbor has them installed on his truck, but don't know if I want to spend $1500 for running boards.

I like the idea of retractable but not the price tag. I'll sell my current running boards to whomever and hold off doing something else for a while. Don't get me wrong, the boards look good and are of quality, however, I find that I prefer the 4R without now.

I checked with this ebay seller. These are Steelcraft side bars - http://www.steelcraftautomotive.com/3_round_sidebars.html. If you check their website they list both stainless steel and black, but to check for availability. I was waiting for Westin's offerings, but I may go with these instead.
