I have a 1998 4 runner limited. I'll try to describe it without sounding like an Aamco comercial. In the morning when the engine is cold, when I pull onto the roadway and accelerate, it appears to be somewhat skipping or lerching. The transmission shifts out very fast, no matter how hard I press the pedal. On heavy pedal pressure, it seems to run without the lerching. After it warms up, the transmission doesn't seem to downshift at times. When Im at low speed, it takes hard acceleration to achieve a downshift and when it's rolling to a stop, it shutters as if it has a driveshaft vibration. At no time have I had any problems with the transmission shifting other than the fast shifting when it's cold. I had it tuned about 5 months ago. Suggestions would greatly be appreciated if this makes any sense.
