S.S. Minnow Build Thread

Nope, it is dented up from getting caught on very large rocks. Most of that was from before I was lifted (not all though). I really need a rear bumper, but going to Moab instead.

gotcha...
eh I will figure out another way to jack from the rear until I snag a rear bumper. do NOT want to put the factory hitch & bumper back on.
like the new clearance too much. but..pros / cons lol

Jonny, a simple bottle jack is one of your best options--along with a block or two of wood, that will handle most of your jacking. Best thing with these--they lift the axle and wheel immediately, unlike hi-lifts which allow the suspension to sag first (unless you strap/chain the axle to the frame first--another pain). Hi-lifts DO work well with adapters, such as the one that hooks into a wheel and lifts the tire first--good for rock-stacking, etc..

good call.
Never used the hi lift- lift mate (wheel strap thingaroos) but would probably work in certain situations. at home I just use the floor jack (try to keep the hi lift for emergency/trail situations only). I was just curious if F.O.G used his tailgate. I need to stop being cheap and just buy a TG rear :bat:

Moab punch list getting knocked out.

Re-mounted my antenna.

Cleaned the thing for the first time in God knows how long. Also mounted the power inverter next to the CB.

As the year comes to end, I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new year. This has been an awesome year of sand bashing, snow bashing, rock crawling, overlanding, mud bogging and puddle splashing. My 3.0 has done all I have asked of it and more.

As it stands now, the Minnow is beat up. The alignment and tires are FUBAR. The body work is still undone. My failure to get sliders on has resulted in dents under the doors. There is body damage down both sides. I have wires hanging loose all over. The tail gate is destroyed. Windshield is cracked. Sunroof is cracked. The power steering has issues. And for all that, it was all completely worth it!

At this point, I bring this fine build thread to end. I think this a good outline for those brand new to the sport. Coming soon it will be time for something bigger and better........

Bringing the build to an end? So are you jumping on the sell-and-build-another-Runner bandwagon also? I thought you were going to SAS the Minnow and keep building it up. Or are you meaning this as an end just for the next few months?

Merry Christmas to you too

Let us know what direction you are going with your off roader. You are one of the core wheelers in the local 4Runner group

The Minnow isn't going anywhere. I'm getting ready to start a new build thread. The Minnow is in desperate need of some love.
