Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

Well...looks like you got at least 25% gain in condescension power over that 1.5 years...impressive! :lol: ...only kidding Mr. Dart, don't take it seriously.

I'm just laying out what I am experiencing, which could be a tiny gain, not ridiculous to think if the snorkel is ramming in ~25% more air. Looking at the OEM inlet, I believe its better than stock. Having experience in performance cars in the past, my mind always wonders if there is a way to better harness that flow, MAF tuner would possibly do that since its tuned for that factory inlet in the fender. Im just putting it out there for the sake of discussion. I dont see why it needs to be immediately shot down based on your butt dyno from a rig that is as far from stock as it gets.

Because it's a 4Runner not a Raptor, lets be realistic. These vehicles have a VERY specific powerband they were built for, and frankly outside of doing a re-gear the rest is fairytales and snake oils.

It would also depend on how fast you are traveling and wind speed/direction. The faster you go, the more air pressure could potentially build in the airbox, to a certain point. There's still a restricted air filter, throttle body, and intake plenum to get through but any bit of positive pressure helps, as long as it's not running lean.

Valid and under those conditions personally I could tell slightly at higher speeds a slight increase in performance

None the less, I wanted cleaner air and its has delivered on that

I was not a big fan of the looks of the snorkle when I first put it on... But it has grown on me. IATs run consistently within 5* of ambient when moving.... I think that is better than before.

Looks good! and I felt the same way ...it took a couple days to grow on me but really like it now

I feel the same, the more I see it, the more I like it! My GF hated that I was putting it on and even she said it looks "right" with the rest of the truck now. Safari did a good job.

I got lucky for sure. I have looked for one for about 3 months now and to have one pop up just over an hour away for a great price is nothing short of a godsend.

I think the best way to pay it forward is with a decent enough tutorial to help people decide wether or not this is for them.
