so i went out to see what i could find, nothing that i can see on the passenger side. but this on the driverside.

Did you try rotating the spring 1/3 turn?

If you rotate them, give that same section of coil a fresh coat of paint. :driving: Then check the paint for rubbage.

Hard part is compressing the springs, safety first :police: use new spring compressors! Don't rent!

Well depending on your mechanical comfort level: you can remove the strut assembly and take it to a shop to have it rotated, you could take the whole rig to a shop and have them do it for probably not a whole lot of dough, or what I recommended. Buy a set of spring compressors, and DIY!

You attach the compressors to each opposite side of the coil. Using a standard ratchet wrench, start tightening back and forth between the two compressors a little bit at a time. Eventually the coil will compress enough for some free play, that's when you (mark the coil in relation to the perch first) rotate the coil 1/3 or whatever you think is a better angle away from the rub point. Release the compressors SLOWLY and bob's your uncle. Now you can do shock work yourself to boot :trophy:

Went on a drive today in the Santa Cruz Mountains, i forgot how beautiful my backyard was! I have no idea why i did it but i just kept going till the road ended! Havent had that much fun driving my runner in a long time. Even on the twisty mountain roads she handeled amazing. Love my truck that much more!

$350 for DOM sliders is pretty pricey if you ask me. When I get sliders, I will probably go with 4XInnovations DOM sliders, they're only $220 for pretty much the exact same thing
 
I have some spring compressors and I've done a ton of suspension work before, never on a 4runner and never to raise the car, but, yeah.... If you need any help, gimme a shout.

I get jealous reading all these cool builds... Mine has been small affordable stuff so far until after my wedding this month. Then I should be going crazy on it this fall!

Thanks! i like yours to. im looking to paint my bumpers and flares like you did. what would you recommend??
