SantaCruzRunner's Build thread.

Don't get DOM, it's not worth it. You won't be wheeling your 4runner hard enough to warrant DOM. My sliders are HREW and they will be plenty strong enough for anything I throw at them.

No problem, Jmoney has HREW sliders and he beats the $hit out of them rock crawling all the time. They may have some dents, but are still holding up really well. You ordering them soon?

Thanks! i like yours to. im looking to paint my bumpers and flares like you did. what would you recommend??

Prep...prep...prep... Clean the crap out of them! I had used degreasers, and dish-soap to clean them really well. Scuff them up with some sandpaper. I think i used 200 on the flares and 80 on the chrome. I followed that up with an Adhesion promoter (helps a lot when dealing with flexible plastics & shiny parts. Pep-boys has it), then primed them with automotive primer (2 light coats), the hit them with some Satin bumper trim black paint for the flares, and spray on bedliner for the bumpers.

I think total cost for all the materials was like $50-60 for everything.
