Satoshi Grill Mod - 5th Gen

That is what I put on mine too. the other site is a rip off and some have said another company said they were discontinued. They obviously dont know what they are talking about. The grillcraft does sit on the outside of where the old one used to, but doesnt really bring it forward, especially since the old logos stuck out so far. I say if you are going to do it, buy it from carid or do the group buy before it ends.

Nice, your truck looks awesome! Im just wondering which would look better on my blizzard pearl, a satoshi or billet grill.... any suggestions?

Gotta say, it's the best, first, mod I've ever done!

Runnerchum - Love it! I already have the same badge (and I'm stock like you). I just need to break down and cut my grille out.

Was at the dealer the other day and asked about the emblem and they said it was discontinued. Is everyone else getting the same story?

Lookie, Utah... I got it up twice today! One was bigger than the other.

Has anyone who has done this mod painted the "TOYOTA" emblem?

I'm concerned that the emblem will be white, my truck is red, and there is just a little chrome trim. If anything, I'd want the "TOYOTA" to be chrome like the rest of the trim. Worried it'll stick out as "odd" in white.

I don't know what page its on, but BFLAN, did his like a gunmetal color.

Make it Salsa Red!

my 2¢: leave it white. it's classic.

I saw BFLANs, and it looks good in grey. I'm worried it'll blend in too much in red. The white IS classic, but there's no white - anywhere - on the exterior of this thing. Nowhere!

Maybe I should bite the bullet, buy a second TOYOTA logo, paint it silver/chrome, and see how it looks. If silver/chrome beats out white, maybe I'll paint the white one SRP and do another comparison.

Is it just a function of taping off the "black bar" that holds the letters together?

My experience with the "chrome" spray paint is:

A: It doesn't look like chrome- more like a buffed aluminum

B: It doesn't hold up very well

C: It gets everywhere when you use it- need to mask off the world...lol

I finished getting all the parts and gear for this mod, but I've run into a bit of a snag... Specifically, how in the blazes do we go about affixing the emblem to the new grille? I'm sure it's something obvious, but after my marathon session installing my new horns this past weekend, I'd like to have everything lined up and ready to go before I rip off my bumper and go to work with a pair of snips and a dremel.

Much thanks in advance for any help you guys may lend.

The stand-offs (posts) that are on the backside of the emblem prevented correct alignment with my grille's mesh spacing. I cut the posts down and left the base of the post, then I drilled holes in the base to allow a very small stainless zip tie to secure emblem to grille. This was the only way I could center properly. The emblem stands off the grill about .25" which, to me, looks intentional.

It's lovebug season in Florida and we've washed the truck damn near every 3rd day; so far the emblem hasn't budged.
