I hate to be that guy, but only one of those two grilles is a Satoshi style grille. The other one is just a very nice modified grille.
Satoshi refers to a user named Satoshi who was on Yotatech about 10 years ago. He is credited with making this *exact* mod. I doubt he was the first human ever but he was the one every named it after.
My point is that ONLY the grille with the older FJ style TOYOTA oem emblem is the Satoshi grille. The others are not. They are just cool custom grilles.
And if you want to be even more picky, neither of the two you posted have the actual OEM FJ TOYOTA badge, so neither are 100% Satoshi.

Scramble seems to be one of the most level-headed guys on the board, and also very knowledgeable.I'm no engineer but I did go to school to become an aircraft mechanic & I know about airflow. The shape of a wing increases the speed of air over the top faster than under the wing creating lift. Those fins in the OEM grill increase the speed of air into the rad where as the Satochi doesn't.
...Let's here from some engineers on this one. lol
I’ll chime in.
Who the hell is Satoshi anyway and why do some many people waste time on this mod? Is it to look cool while you're mall crawling?
Who the hell is Satoshi
"Who is Satoshi". )
That is a great movie.
Hahahahahahahahaha
As soon as I saw the title, I knew who the author would be [emoji23]

In addition to the fact I think the stock grilles look 100x better than the gutter guard grilles, I really do think there is much more engineering in the airflow of the grille than just blocked vs not blocked.
I can appreciate keeping birds n stuff out. I could possibly do this mod too.
I did just read on a 4R FB page a fried bat was found in the grill of a 2018 Runner. Sharp teeth n all.
