A little off topic, but can I get a picture of your whole truck, specifically looking for shots of the stance of your wheels. I love the look of them and have been considering getting a set in black for my rig but I'm unsure of the back spacing and what not. What tire amd size are you running, I saw your questions about lifts ao I assume you are not lifted?

Here is a couple pics ... Before I purchased the TRD wheels , I picked up a set of 1.5" spacers to see what kind of stance it would have but it rubbed the wheel well without the lift so I returned them until I get to it next month ... I'm going with a two inch lift with bilstein 5100s . I'll send pics before and after once I get them installed . I'm presently running NITTO 265 70 r17 MT

it's not a satoshi mod. Lol.

Its a cool grill mod. Perhaps you should think of a custom name?

Looks great though and those wheels are sweet. Loose the running boards and you will have instant lift.

I'll go hide now.

When I first stumbled upon this grill upgrade on this forum , they called it a "satoshi mod" ... Just wondering what the correct terminology is for this modification ?

Satoshi mod gets its name from ......? - YotaTech Forums

There was a guy in Japan named Satoshi who did the mod. Then someone that knew him posted about it on a Toyota site. I'm trying to find the link, I'll post it when I do. Also, it's not a Satoshi unless the TOYOTA emblem is used.

my 2 cents. ... I would never say the Satoshi mod is the best or coolest grill mod or anything like that. It is a personal style choice that is all.

I only make statements about what is our is not Satoshi because I have noticed that most people (lately) have no idea and think Satoshi is some kind of slang lingo for grill mod. I believe people should know what the name means and what it looks like if you choose to do it.

It is a small thing, a name. Sometimes making statements like this I feel a bit like those wikipedia guys who spend time fixing small mistakes on the web. For example how people use "comprised of" instead of "comprises" or "composed of". I'm not a grammar bug, far from it. On the radio I heard about one guy who has fixed the bad usage " comprised of" on Wiki over 20,000 times.

People on T4R will continue to call every grill mod a Satoshi mod and occasionally I will comment as an FYI. Sorry if this derailed ypur thread.

I was under the impression the guys name it originated from was "SATOSHI" although mine does not carry the Toyota emblem ?... Guess I just prefer the look of the TRD badge by itself but that may be just as misleading in the fact that my 4runner does not come equipt with the factory TRD package ... Either way I like the look of the "custom grill" mod !
