Should I go get a "Scangauge II"? Is it useful? How will it help me?
Is it worth the investment?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the info everyone I'm interested in this
Maybe we should school you on using the search function![]()
All you need to know including how to program them is just a quick search away.
If you have an Android phone pick up a bluetooth OBD adapter and download the Torque app. Does everything a Scanguage does for much cheaper.
I have an old extra Android phone that I use.
Tried..... the search is not the most useful..... (including doing google with site:toyota-4runner.org)
Also, most threads talks about how to mount and what it can do.... yet, if I have no ideas what those things are.... I really don't know how useful this is..... I'd like to know if it is something I should get, and then learn and grow into....
Lastly, comments like this one is nowhere to be found...
I like how self-containing the SG2 is (and being able to have it mounted and always on etc..), but this $4.95 Torque app plus a <$30(or even $20) ODB BT adapter approach is quite attractive!
either you suck at searching or you didn't search.

everything you ever want to know about either one is available on the web. Neither torqueapp or scangauge is 4runner specific. Other sites have much greater information.

No disrespect to the Scan Gauge guys, however I am not clear with Torque and Dash Command why someone would buy an older LCD dual numeric line output device in an app world.
