I have an 04', is the T1808 the newest HU that will plug directly into my harness? More importantly, can can aux cable be fitted that I can plug into the audio jack of my phone (Not an Iphone)?

Just read through those threads and am probably going with 1806 to retain stock back lighting.
Unfortunately everyone was asking about ipod connectivity. I don't have an Ipod I have an android cellphone with audio jack.
So what will I need to plug this phone in for aux music?
Is there a scion cable that will plug in to a standard audio jack?

Why not go with the T1819 which has blue tooth so you connect your phone that way?

$100 in adapter cables.

Isnt there a way to plug a standard 3.5mm audio jack into the back of the t1806? There was a aux jack in the scion xb's with these units...

I've been looking to upgrade my system as well. Most importantly, i want to retain the steering wheel control. The T1809 pioneer seems to be the best/cheapest option. About 125 bucks on ebay. And you can change the colors of the deck. It will say Scion on the unit, but as its a polished plastic face, a little elbow grease and a fingernail may take care of it. This deck will have several RCA jacks in the back, so you can add an amp. Next, I want to figure out a way to add a Sub to the system, but I want it hidden. Didn't some later model 4th gens come with an integrated sub?

Good news, I found a guy who builds a cable for exactly what I want. He says that you can not only use the aux port with his cable but you can also splice into 3 wires to retain steering wheel control.

Here's his contact if anyone else has an android or other non iphone device and wants to play music through a scion HU. [email protected].

any updates on the outcome of using that cable?

how much did that cable run you? and im assuming that you mean that the aux port will not work in the 06+ models that came with a stock jack correct? so for 03-05 models, this cable should just be plug and play?

cable works great albeit something strange happens with my galaxy SIII when I plug it in. If I don't first connect my phone to my power cable from cigarette 12v, and connect it, any slight movements will cause distortion and will actually change songs or even queue up the galaxies equivalent to siri! It can even turn the screen on and off. Very weird. Doesn't happen to anyone elses phone I know though.

I think the cable cost like 8-10$ after shipping iirc. The aux cable has a connector that is pretty generic Toyota and plugs into the back of my scion replacement radio. Anything on the 06+ is a different story, they have a totally different system but I imagine the connector could be similar if not the same You would need to ask the guy in the email I provided above. Or search if the Scion aux connector is the same as on the 06+ stock radios.
My stock radio did not have a connector port for aux, hence why I got the SCion replacement.

Hope that helps.
