Scrape sound coming from steering wheel?

I have a 2012 4Runner Limited, and have been noticing a scrape sound that comes from the steering wheel column when cranking the wheel just after starting the vehicle up. The sound only appears to happen when the wheel is cranked after the vehicle is started, but at no other time during normal driving.

Normally i wouldn't really care about a small insignificant sound, but on two separate occasions when pulling down the driveway, and cranking the wheel at the bottom, i heard a spring sound, kinda like a BOOING noise, and the power steering warning light flashed 5-6 times then stopped.

Anyone know what this could be, or experienced something similar? I'll take it to the dealer, but i doubt they'll be able to duplicate it.

Maybe it's some sort of motor calibrating?

My 2011 TE has that sound too. It is a very faint spring sound when turning the wheel and back. No flashing lights though.
