screen on rear map light

hey guys, i bought my 4th gen awhile back. i haven't noticed until one of my passengers pointed out to me.
there is a screen that seems to be a lcd screen on the back of the rear map light console facing the rear passengers. but nothing is displayed on it. can someone please tell me what does it do?

It's for the rear-seat, radio/wireless headphones. Mine came with it, but without the remote and headphones.

Yep mine too, never have used it


You should also have a remote somewhere in the truck too, so the rear passengers can listen to the CD, or their own station I believe.

It's called the rear entertainment system. Also comes with a remote & 2 headphones. Purpose is: The driver can listen to cd's and rear passengers can listen to the radio or vice versa.

Then you got ripped off. How could the dealer sell you an incomplete system? Anywayz, i have an extra pair (2) headphones for sale. Works great but needs new earfoams. You can buy those at Radio Shack or somewhere.

Some dealers threw them in, or added it to price of the truck. But it was an optional accessory.

When I bought mine, I thought they were missing but found out here that they were indeed an accessory.

thanks guys, now i'm very disappointed. not because i don't have the remote or headphones. its because i thought here is something that maybe i put in a bulb or fix it and i will have, i don't know maybe temp display or whatever. i'm disappointed because you guys just told me i have an option that i will never use....lol
