Seattle dominated the whole first half. Russel Wilson is once again on point. The Saints are looking unprepared. Lynch has been slicing and dicing the whole defense. And they slid in a touchdown before the half! Seattle is serious y'all.

After a 10-0 lead a small part of me knew this was coming. First the weaknesses we talked about earlier with Seattle's offense wasn't present tonight. Their defense played exactly as we thought. After that defensive score I think the Saints folded on both sides of the ball. And how cool would it be to be a Seahawks player right now? The fans out there are loving every minute of it!

I can't wait to add Percy back to this offense. Hopefully they don't have a letdown game on the short week. If we can beat SF, game on.

Until you mentioned it, I was completely oblivious to the fact that Percy wasn't playing. haha that's how good Seattle was playing tonight. That was playoff performance hands down!!

Things I took away from that game:
1. We have the ability to win a shootout if need be.
2. The strength of our secondary is based on a team scheme and is not just on one man (Richard Sherman).
3. As great of a game as that was, it was still just one game. Gotta keep in mind that the Bucs were giving us a pretty convincing beat down for a while at home.
4. An often overlooked strength of this team is our special teams play.
5. 47 Ronin looks like it could be the most ridiculous movie of the holiday season.

Though I live in Texas, i lived my teen years in Seattle and i've always remained a Seahawks fan. I'm old enough to remember games in the old Kingdome and my wish is to see the hawks win the Superbowl at least once, maybe this is the year!
Their last and only appearance at the big game in 2006 against Pittsburgh was disappointing to say the least. Steelers were good that year but too bad the officiating wasn't cleaner. In fact I just looked it up on Wiki and one quote says: "A February 7 online ESPN poll found that, with 103,167 votes cast, 61.7% of those votes were cast for the choice of "officiating mistakes affected the outcome of Super Bowl XL."
Anyway, awesome performance last night, looking forward to the playoffs!

Eh, officiating can go wither way. Let's not forget that Green Bay game last year. I'm of the opinion that if you don't want officiating to decide the outcome, you have to play better before it gets to that.

Pittsburgh was probably fixed that year IMO. Anyways Seattle's secondary was pretty solid. Like you said it wasn't all based around Sherman. The safety's were showing up too!

100% agree. It's like letting a boxing/mma fight go to the judging and then complaining about it later. Want to avoid it? Do a better job of keeping it out of their hands. The big difference for me between those two teams is that in '06 I felt that we would have to have things bounce in our favor to win that game whereas IF IF IF we get there this year, I feel like we can beat anyone straight up.
Funny fact about the 2006 Superbowl. At the time I was living with a good friend of mine who when we started living with each other, could care less about the Seahawks, let alone football in general. He's super into sports like surfing, wake boarding, snowboarding, etc etc. Well, I turned him into a hardcore hawks fan and at the time of the '06 Super Bowl I was in BFE Bishop, CA on a climbing trip. He called me and asked where I was going to be watching the game and I told him I would find a bar to watch it in. He told me, "No way, you're watching it here. Find a way to get back." So, I bailed randomly from our campground, hopped a bus to Reno and then another one to Sacramento, on a plane to Seattle, watched the hawks lose then repeated the process in reverse the next day. Popped back into the campground and people asked where I was. I told them and no one believed me. No one believed I would go through all that just for a game.

I think if it had any effect, it was that it gave them a little false confidence. Bottom line is that there's no bigger home field advantage than in NFL football. There's a slight advantage in each, but in football it's pretty big. In fact, I think they say it's roughly around a 7pt advantage. That's pretty big. You need to be able to communicate effectively and fast and if you can't do that, it's going to throw your rhythm off.
