That alone summarizes your total lack of comprehension of the difference between an action that is "against State law" and an action that may result in liability.
At this point, I'm really not even sure what your points are supposed to be.
Are you mad that the dealer won't turn off the chime? They don't have to and they need absolutely no reason to say no.
Is it illegal for them to turn it off? No, but they may be liable if they do.
Is it illegal for them to have it longer than 8 seconds (as you first wrote)? No. Absolutely not.
Are you upset that there is a chime? Lots of people are... myself included. My dog rides up front and triggers the sensor even when I'm wearing mine. There are plenty of reasons to justify disabling it.
Or are you just upset that your interpretation of the law is baseless? Can't help you there.... but (hopefully) law isn't your profession and most laws tend to be complex if not misleading.
There are many reasons they require licenses to practice law... one of my favorites is so to protect the world from people like you.

From the get go, i made two points
a) the passenger seat belt chime is not a legal requirement and Toyota claiming it is, is FALSE.
b) I inferred that the 8 second sound could be in violation, but that was not my concern so I never stated it as fact.
On a) I am correct and on b) I am not arguing that point
and I never claimed that Toyota must disable it...
Your argument is that any claimed "safety" device altered by the dealer from a request of the owner, when there is an option to do so, opens them to liability even if it is not legally required AND you claimed that it may be against state law based on altering a safety device.
DRLs are an example that contradicts your drivel. They are not required by law and dealers will turn them off by programming on vehicles that are equipped that way.
Your liability BS is a catch all, liability lawsuits can been filed against anybody for anything, so to suggests that they may open themselves up to a liability is pure fluff. Liability threats can be used in all circumstances. Can you cite any liability case where an owner requested a passenger seat belt buzzer, not required under any law, to be disabled.

There is NO legal requirement for the passenger seat belt chime.
There is NO requirement for Toyota to disable it.
There is NO case that shows this to be a liability issue.
There is NO State law that makes it illegal.
There is NO question that you have nothing but baseless assumptions and generalizations, throwing out words like "may" don't cut it.
There is NO problem disabling it yourself.
If you have something factually significant, I would be interested otherwise get lost.. you haven't made any valid argument..
