Seat cover options...

So what seat covers are people running and how do you like them?

I really want to put a decent set of aftermarket seat covers on my 4runner. Not only do I find the factory corduroy fabric uncomfortable, but I don't want a spill permanently staining/damaging the seat material.

I've been running some cheap one-size-fits-all covers for almost 3 years now but I'm getting tired of the crap-tastic look of them. Want something a little nicer.

Would prefer a military camo pattern.

So here's what I've found:

Wet Okole: Multiple colors, runs $239/up for both front seats.

GT Covers: Multiple colors, runs $180/up for both fronts

Marathon Seat Covers: Multiple Colors, runs $175 for both fronts (but headrests are an $18/seat option.)

Anything else? Seems odd I can't find much between the $20 wal-mart cheapies and the $200 custom fitted covers.

GT is a good value and they are local to me (they have a factory in Denver) which means I could pick them up vs. having to have them shipped.

Marathon Covers seems to offer the best range of military camo patterns (they're the only ones who offer a 3-color DCU pattern.) My gripe with Marathon is that they start off inexpensive but the things that other companies include (likes seat back pockets and headrest covers) you have to pay extra $$ for with marathon.

Right now I'm leaning towards either a marathon cover in the DCU pattern (the 3-color desert camo we wore in the military from 1991 - 2004) or the GT covers in Woodland Camo (the green BDU camo pattern.) The GT covers would be about $50 cheaper but I'd prefer the DCU pattern to the Woodland Camo.

Anyone have any experience with these or any other companies? I know there are several Wet Okole users here but what about the others? And what other companies should I be looking at?

Hmmm... OK, if what I'm seeing is right, it's going to be pretty much $200 no matter where I go.

That's cool, I'll pay that for decent covers. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious. I guess $100/seat isn't an unreasonable price for a seat cover that fits like a factory cover vs. one that fits like a burlap sack (like what I've got now.)

I bought Cover Kings for the wife's 2000 4runner.

Fit is good and def worth the price.

I bought from Costco.com.

damn i gotta stop looking at these threads, i'm gonna go broke! I've been wanting some seat decent seat covers for a while and the wet okole were just way out of my price range. but now i discover these cover kings... looks like i got something to buy with the tax return. :D
Javen what material did you get for your wifes runner? Are the head rest a separate piece?

Neoprene/wet suit material. The head rests are separate.

I ordered from the Costco www site. Check under auto accessories.

The material is a lil thinner than Wet Okole... As I have read :)

I have the seat covers from gt, I haven't taken any pictures of them but they fit perfectly. I got the fake leather covers and they have a little extra padding in them makes it a little more comfortable. The only thing I can say is their headrest covers look kinda weird. I didn't end up using those.

I did my research and decided Wet Okole's are pricey, but the best and worth it. I've had them over a year now and I still think they are the best and worth it! Even the rear headrest covers look great! I also got a matching center console cover, it looks great as well.

Everyone that see's them says 'WOW, did you put new seats in this?!'

They give a 20% discount for military or ex-military.

They only charge Tax if you are in CA or HI i believe. If you can pick them up from one of their CA or HI stores, you save the shipping AND they install them for free.

I like the factory and find them comfortable.

I still want some for the stain protection. For a little while I just threw some towels over them but thanks for the poster that said the ones from Cosco I think I will jut go that route, if I find Someone with a a membership, or I might just get the cheap ones from Wal mart for the time being.

I have the Wet Okole's and love them. Perfect fit and very comfortable.

FWIW, I remember there was a comparison thread over on YT comparing the Coverking vs Wet Okole covers with pics. If I remember correctly, the WO material seemed to be of better quality to the OP and the WO padding was a bit thicker. Just something to think about to help you make a decision.

Judging by your avatar I'm guessing you are/were in the military. I believe Wet Okole gives a military discount so that could be a factor to consider. Also, I've heard great feedback from people who have used them.

Ben, do you have some pictures you could share? I'm considering the GT or the iggee. thanks
