Trust me, I'm aware of the costs. Although I'm only about $6400 into so far and almost all of the little maintenance items are taken care of. I have my truck for long hauls, and if I ever get a chance to actually do some overlanding as I would like, I am sure that I will be more willing to spend a pretty penny on some new seats. These things suck. However, the guy below who spent $40 on those awesome Land Rover seats is what I am looking for lol.

and I will always choose fixing mechanical over plush, but once it's running good you have to put some bling into it. part of why I did what I did is my wife, she always complains that toyota seats suck. now they suck a little less but she will find something new to complain about.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I did one in a day and the other the next day. Doing it again, I could do them both on a day. I used the stock feet and bolted a steel bar across the front feet and the back feet. Then I bolted the seat slides to the steel cross rails and the seats bolted to the sliders. Done.

Interesting topic as I ponder some Wet Okole seat covers, front and rear for about 600 bucks! CoverKing and CalTrend, a little bit less...

There’s a lot of different seats you can use. Really depends how much work you wanna put into it. Junkyards are full of newer cars with decent seats. Just measure the seat track and find some that are real close or exact. Grind off your mounting feet and weld onto new seat tracks. I put some new Xterra seats in my 90 pickup, with modified bracket to match seat track and in my 02 runner there are now LandRover seats, that was pretty easy. The LandRover seats can be found at most salvage yards as well in pretty good shape.
I replaced mine not because they were worn out, but because they were too small and uncomfortable. The LR seats are great for taller broader people...

Thinking seriously about the Corbeau MOABs...

I've had a few people want my Limited leather seats which are in darn good condition... I prefer manual controls and only got the Limited because I couldn't find any non-Limited with the factory e-locker.

I completely refurbed my drivers seat with new leather and new seat foams.

Would you mind posting some additional details about this?

I wasn't aware that new leather and foam were available via Toyota, but would very much like to investigate this option.

I've though about these as well. Nice that they make the rails too so there's no modification required. Would love to see how they fit into the t4r.

Very close to ordering actually. Should be an easy install. I've done Corbeau before, and it was a fast and easy install with their mounting hardware.

Found free shipping for tan vinyl/cloth MOABs, total $788.

Anyone know the weight of the factory leather with power adjust?

Man I would love to see some pics of these in the runner! I've had them in my cart like 3 times already. Just haven't pulled the trigger.... what is wrong with me 20 year old salvage title car and I want to spend 700 on new seats.

is that price with the 4runner brackets?

Yup, with 3rd gen 4Runner brackets, double locks on the sliders:

It would be less expensive without cloth, and black...

Again, when compared to nice seat cover pricing, the dinero delta is not all that much.

Oh, I called "Racing Seats USA" earlier, I think I spoke with a Tyler, and he said that free shipping was throughout the holiday season. He said no rush. Not all places have free shipping. This one seems to be no tax also.

I have considered the Suspension line, which are a couple Bajas. They are black though, and some grey options I believe. I really want a tan for my interior. The MOAB reviews are pretty compelling, and tan is an option as well as cloth, so that's what I would get...

Figured it was the color options.

I do a couple of Baja trips every year. So I was thinking function over look, which is why I'd prefer the suspension seat. Unfortunately I also have the Tan interior.

I really like the look of the tan land rover seats the guy above did. Looks great and saw sets for around 500$ but that involves custom brackets and welding.

Another factor, at least for me, is weight-savings. With the brackets being about 5 pounds, these Corbeau MOABs should be just shy of 30 lbs each.

I'd guess the stock leather, powered seats (what I have) are at least 50 lbs each. The shedding of 40+ pounds is pretty dang nice.

I don't find the stock seats all that comfortable. I prefer cloth too. While I have not sat in MOABs, I own another Corbeau seat, and have sat in others, and I like to believe this will be comfort improvement, as well as durability.

I will likely make the decision over the next few days.
