Seatbelt chime disable?

Way back when I got my '08 someone here posted a hack of sorts that disables the seatbelt chime (I did it for off roading and when a mildly heavy bag is on the passenger seat).

Has anyone identified this for the 2014? It's like entering a cheat code on a original Nintendo. Combinations of door open/close, odo button push, key to acc., etc.

1. See if your dealer will do it for you without
A. Charging you
B. saying they can't for legal reasons even if you payed them
2. Buy some cheap techstream software and do it yourself
3. Find someone with the techstream software and bring him/her a case of beer.
4. Put your belt on
5. Buy one of those stupid seat belt latches from eBay.

Doesn't this only work with windows 7 or less. Not everyone has that.

went to a dealer, the lady responsible for the service departement told me they could not do it due to legal reasons.

Went my normal, but farther away, dealer, they did it for free, and never went back to the other dealer.

My dealer seems to be very customer oriented. What a concept. They turned mine off also. Ive seen them bend over backwards to help their customers. :happy:

I Had the dealer disable mine "Before" I signed the paperwork. It's Your best leverage point during the whole process.

P.s. It is awesome to have it disabled, just going in and out of my work parking lot it's the mod I enjoy and get the most use out of every single day.

I picked up an old laptop from a relative. No wifi and only the old USB version 1 ports. Battery lasts about 15mins. Got XP , TS, and drivers loaded. Works great. Anyone in my area is welcome to use it.

Went to a local dealer for service and they removed the seat belt chime. No questions, no charge. Should have done this a while ago.

Seat Belt Chime

I used Techstream to disable the driver's side but left the passengerside enabled. I found that it will chime for about 15 seconds then quit. Not bad if you can stand the noise for 15 seconds. I learned that when my wife released to get something out of the cooler in back.

if anyone is near me and wants their chime to go away. i have the software and cable.. i also added 2 secs to my rear wiper delay.. it's still too fast but it's better

I just may take you up on that offer. I'd like to kill the chime and add the delay on the rear wiper on my new 14 LE. I'm in West AA County but would be happy to roll by whenever.

Do you have the security(alarm)on your 4R hooked up? There is another thread somewhere about enabling it using the techstream. Apparently its there, but not enabled on some 4R's. At my next service I'm going to hit them up to enable mine, just wondering if you've seen it in there under security and tried it.

yea it's in there, mine was already enabled.. go figure.. a sales manager at toyota owned this b4 i, so i'm sure he had everything done the way it should be.

Thanks, not sure what Toyotas logic is making this a hidden feature. I'm on very good terms with the sales manager at my dealer. I'll run this by him when I take it in. I asked about an alarm when I bought it and no one knew. I believed them because they didn't try to sell me one.
