Atlanta_man, why are you so worried about everyone's T4R that may or maynot install the bypass? It's not like they are removing the cats etc. We heard your warning, don't need to see it more than once.

Billy Nathanson. I also have injection pump failure on my 2009 T4R. The Toyota assistance line informed me that it will only extend warranty on Sequoia and Tundra with certain VIN numbers. I have requested that a supervisor call me back but wonder if there is any additional reference information that could help Toyota acknowledge that this warranty was extended to the T4R at least in your instance. Any help or info greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Been lurking for a while as well.
Bought my 05 T4RV8 last summer. Sunday afternoon I got the code when starting the truck for the first time that day. Noticed the vacuum cleaner sound on Saturday by pure chance and after digging through the search feature came across this thread.
I guess mine is stuck closed as there is no drop in performance only the CEL and VSC TRAC lights.
With that being said, would the solid state bypass module only be a good solution or should I also go ahead and buy the plates as well?
Can you take them to small claims ? Worst case they don't show. And if they do they are going to out lawyer you. But in the off chance they don't get someone there you will present your case if you can gather the data and recording them saying yes 4runner is affected but we aren't doing it.
Pictured is what my control valve looked like. Based on how the foam broke down I described it to slyfox75 as heavy pancakes with syrup that has sat on a plate for hours. Makes sense that some valves could stick closed.
Once I have time to do a write up I'll post a link in this thread. The foam is almost like weather stripping but with larger pores, if that makes any sense.
