Secondary Air Injection Valve Stuck

I did the same, split the case in half to inspect. That’s when I found the valve plate broken at its mounting screws. They do not sell the internal parts separately, just the entire valve.

I first ordered a used valve from a salvager off eBay. Then went and bought a new one from a Toyota dealer for $300+, which is the one I installed (driver’s side). I’d be will to sell the used driver’s side valve for $100.

I'll likely just order the new one just to have a little more peace of mind. I do appreciate the offer, though!

It just happened to my 2016 Limited. Cleared the code and it stayed away until it got down to 10 degrees F (like when it first happened). Then it came back. How hard is it to replace, and where is the best place to buy the part?

Even though original OEM failed I'd still order Toyota part. They're around $270 from the dealer. Make sure you order one for correct bank (Bank 1 or Bank2)

I used my remote start to let my 4runner warm up a bit since temps here are in the single digits right now. I get in and see the CEL and Trac Off lights lit up.

I just had the same issue with the CEL and other lights, as you did. Did replacing the valve solve everything for you?

Is this the correct part for bank 2?

If you have the 2443 code, it's relatively common when it's near freezing and humid. The valve develops a layer of ice (frost) which delays opening long enough for the valve timing sensor to trigger the code. Just start the engine and go for a drive. When you get back, clear the code. If the 2443 stays away, then it was the ice problem. If the code returns then there may be more investigation required. You could try to disassemble the valve to clean it if you want. The SAIS only operates for a few seconds at cold start and shut down, and you can drive with the code active.

I believe 25702-31014 is the correct part number since it's for the left side. I never did order the new part. I ended up just clearing my code after it happened and, luckily, it never came back.
