Who did the boss kit installation themselves?

A buddy of mine is a mechanic and we're gonna do the install next week or two. Just curious how long it took and any road bumps we may need to watch for during the process.

I did mine pretty much on my own. Had the wifey passing me tools for part of the time. The extra set of hands is huge if your doing the UCAs. That bolt is long and can be a pain if you try solo. Make sure you have all of the tools and equipment ready to go and you'll be all set. I went to start and found out that my jack stands were too short. If you have a mechanic helping you'll breeze right through it.

I read through the instruction on toytecs website and on some threads here, in the end I'm going to pay to have mine done. My biggest issue is not having all proper tools and I'd rather have someone else rip out Xreas. It didn't look bad at all though.

My son and I did it last weekend on his 4th gen. We have access to a shop with a lift and all the tools and even then it was challenging. We also installed UCA's. The rear is fairly straight forward. Had to use spring compressors to get the springs in, but having it on a lift and a jack we could pull one side down to get the spring in and then use a jack to lower the truck down on the side with the spring in and wedge the other spring in. Removing the sway bars, both front and rear, makes everything go in easier.

The front is more work and takes some muscle to get the coil over in, but can be done on jack stands in the driveway, but is easier on a lift.

I pulled my front swaybar completely out as it wasn't going back on after the install. The rear can definitely stay just disconnect each end.

suspension work is easy. a decent socket set, a floor jack, the stock bottle jack, and a set of tall jack stands is all you should need. the front can take an amateur a few hours, but the back can be done in under 2 without too much trouble.
