selling Nav out of my 2011 4unner

I believe both have the option of nav but this is the JBL so not sure if it will match the harness. IIRC the harness in the JBL equiped Limiteds is a completly different harness than in the SR5's and Trail Edition's. We need Antman or Harper to chime in.

Gents, every time this topic has come up, it's all fallen back on the darn wiring harness. The consensus is that the main wiring harness in the truck is specific to the options that the truck rolled off the factory with. So if it didn't come with a Nav system from the factory, then the harness won't allow for plug and play.

That said, we're a couple years since the 5th Gen was introduced, so maybe someone has some kind of adapter by now. (And of course if I'm remembering my facts wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Having had both the SR5 and the Limited and removed both head units, I can tell you they're not the same wiring harness. You will find a great many issues trying to wire them in, but I guess with the proper pinouts and some wire taps, you *could* do it?

$800 is a good price. I sold mine on ebay for a bit more than that in about 6 hrs. Posted it at 11pm, and had a buy it now purchase at 5am.

Correct. Harper7 went over this entire process with another member when he was looking to sell his. The harnesses are COMPLETELY different. The factory only puts the harness in for the specific vehicle/options being manufactured. To try to get the NAV to work in anything that's not specifically wired FOR IT will be extremely difficult, not to mention very expensive. Toyota is very streamlined in the manufacturing process and they do not put anything in the truck that doesn't need to be there for that specific model/options combination. They've got this down to a science. Sorry to burst your bubble, this has been confirmed multiple times now.

In terms of an adapter or such, who knows, it's "plausible" as a mythbuster would say - but I'd make 100% sure before I bought it.

here's the specific thread where harper7 talks about this, in very good detail. You might be able to sell this to a 4th gen'r with the jbl harness (as harper explains). I worked with Harper7 on this as well. The JBL nav/radio will not work with a non-JBL/nav equipped 4Runner.

The JBL nav head unit does not have a built in amplifier. The amp is in the back of the truck. The amp and all the associated wiring is required for the JBL unit to function. Plus, the backup camera and vehicle speed sensor wiring is not there.

It is WAY easier to install a Pioneer AVIC navigation head unit in your 4Runner. The steering wheel controls, backup camera and bluetooth can all be connected with aftermarket adapters.

Dang. That's a great price. I wish I knew if I can stuff this into my Ltd with JBL (non-nav). Haven't had the time to investigate.

So am I reading this correct? This unit will fit in my 2007 Limited with JBL and plug and play? If so, PM me and let's move forward. Does this mean bluetooth will work too and all I need is a camera and wiring to this harness to have all 3...Nav, Bluetooth and camera?
