Setting coilover heights

So I set the coilovers at 1 inch of collar showing on both. However the passenger side is sitting 1 inch higher. So.... I can lower the pass side coilover collar another bit to get it down... But why are they different? Has anyone else ran accross this?

Everybody has.

The battery and the gas tank are on the drivers side, it's gonna lean. Adjusting the coil overs is the way to fix it.

Well duh aren't I a boob. I just filled the tank 100 percent. Assuming gas weighs 6 pounds a gallon, times 22 gallons is 132 pounds. I guess I should stick 66 pounds in the front passenger seat and then level it?

Yup, this is correct. Best way to adjust your coilovers is with your gas tank about half full. That way you get less lean either way when the tank is full or empty.

Not at all! Just trying to re-affirm - weight distribution isn't even side to side, adjusting the coil overs to compensate is the the way to correct it.

I will pull off the passenger side coilover and set the height again tomorrow. I want to get this done ASAP so first thing Monday I can get it aligned. I'm on a tight budget and can't afford to mess up the tires. That being said I'll throw in the ballast and get'er done. Thanks for all your advising.

What coilovers do you have that can't be adjusted on the vehicle?

They can be adjusted on the 4runner, it's just a pain. I can have them off the car in 10 minutes and then it's super easy to do. On the vehicle you are limited on throw by the resi line fitting on one side, and the shock tower on the other side.
