Anyone else have sunroof suddenly shatter? My wife was driving 4Runner on highway and the sunroof made a loud pop and shattered. At first she was looking to see if something fell through, but no. It was like it was punched up from the inside.

no sunroof- no problems. I don`t need no stinking sunroof, useless feature in my books. My every vehicle before runner has one but I was a smoker back then so it was useful for me... not anymore as I quick stupid habit 3 years ago- no regrets.

1. Congrats on dropping the cigs!

2. this is my first vehicle with a sunroof - I use it all the time and absolutely love it. Windows down, back window down, sunroof open and I don't know why anyone would ever buy a wrangler!

oooh oooh my turn with numbers

1. It's a moonroof. :D

2. These things usually don't spontaneously shatter. More than likely some kind of debris hit it just right. I've had all kinds of crap on the road hit my vehicles, including a 4"x4" metal plate (looked to be about 1/8" thick) scrape the roof of my Z leaving a 22" long gash. I imagine if I had a sunroof/moonroof I would have been in serious trouble.

3. I absolutely love having it. We couldn't get it with our Xterra and it wasn't a factory option with the 350Z. I hated not having one and love my T4R that much more for it.

Sunroof's shatter all the time. At speed there is more pressure inside the vehicle than outside, and if the glass is weak it will explode outwards.
