Shock boots worth purchasing?

I have a full OW suspension set up on its way and was wondering if purchasing shock boots for the rear is recommended? What are your views on this?

Thanks all!

The rubber cover protector that mounts over the lower shaft part of the shock. That may sound bad lol.

Damn- Kingpin got ya. FYI- He's laughing right now...

Im surprised he didn't say something like, "Don't go with the boots, get the sandals instead..." :D

I asked the same question to Andries before I got my set. He recommended them only if you were to run the truck in places with a lot of loose sand. So I saved myself the $20

The big debate that has gone on for years is if they are really doing any good. Yes they may keep some stuff off, but dirt is going to get in there and now the boots are keeping mud and dirt in the shock shaft. I have always not gone with shock boots and cleaned my shafts :) whenever i got into the mud, etc.

There is a seal on the shock prohibiting dirt and such from getting into the internals of the shock.

Are we still talking automotive?

Same here. If the guy who sells them tells you that you don't need them then you really don't. Tell Andries and Mark what kind of conditions you're planning on driving in and they're honest enough to tell you whether you'll really need them or not.
