Shock suggestions

Hey guys,

Just purchased a 2000 4wd 4runner limited and the shocks need replaced. This is my daily driver that will spend most of the time on the highway but will also spend a considerable amount of time in the woods here in the black hills on some fairly nasty trails. It isn't lifted and I don't intend to put one on but thought maybe I could achieve a bit of a lift with new shocks? Perhaps something designed for another vehicle. Just looking for suggestions and advice.

Thanks

How many miles on the runner? Do you have rear sag at all? You suuuuuure you don't want lift? :p Not sure what stock shocks are good, I'd imagine any name brand is decent. If you do decide on a small lift and don't want to spend too much on shocks, I'd recommend the Rough Country N2.0. Low price, good ride.

Dont buy Monroe's!
If you have the money get Bilstiens for a more budget option I recommend the KYB GasAJust they were decent on my 4runner, not as good as the original tokicos but a good bang for the buck and they are much better than the Monroes which went bad after a month.

I really liked my kyb monomax shocks. I eventually lifted too but check them out. They are a great all around shock/strut. I got them from tire rack btw

125,000 with no sag. It rides decent till you hit a a signifigant bump then the rear bottoms out. Figure I'd replace all four if I'm doing it. I'd love to lift it but my budget is tight. It came with new rubber that isn't exciting and I have four almost new tire off my last rig that are also fairly stock. If I lift it then I'm gonna want new tires and I got 80,000 miles figure why buy more. Would like to put an after market front bumper on just to have something to hook into on the front but even that is a bit frivalous for me. I just want a reliable daily driver that can get me around in woods and snow, not gonna be going anyplace to crazy.
