Should I Black gloss the stock wheels?? and how to??

should i paint my stock wheels black? the paint is coming off and as u can see already turning black. should i or should i not? and how to? thanks!

I am assuming your stock wheels are aluminum. If so I have never seen any of my freinds that painted theirs
be happy with the results. They look fine for several months and then the paints starts peeling off and look terrible. If you want them black then get them powdercoated. This will require the tire be taken of the rim but will be quit durable.

If they are steel wheels then go for it. Use a product to clean the wax/grime off, sand them down and paint them.

Are they the same rims in your sig picture? If so, they are steel.

A good body shop can paint the rims.

Take the wheel off, clean it, sand it, prime it, paint (i used satin black), and then hit it with a clear coat.

The only time the paint came off was when i got new tires. Other than that they hold up pretty good. I cant stand the look of the crappy stock rims.

okay checklist-
-primer
-a type on black gloss with high heat finish... help with selection. i might use the paint the guy did on the video in post number 10
-clear coat
-sand paper 100grit and up
-sander to hook to my power drill
-paint thinner and acitone
-mask
-lots of painters tape and newspaper
anything else?? tips??

i think im just going to paint over the toyota emblem instead of taking it off. would yall reccomend sanding my plasctic center cap and the emblem??

well it rained so i cant do it for a while. it kinda scared me when i was about to go buy everything so i didnt. my dad has a friend thats gonna give us a quote to do it. he is great and will give us a good price.

so my dad called his friend to see if he could black gloss my wheels and he said he could but preferred powder coating them to last longer. would powder coat black look bad on wheels???

well my dads friend can do it for a good price in gloss as he does not do any powder coating which he says lasts longer but doesnt powder coating leave a rough texture??
