Should I Buy These Runningboards?

Im wondering if I should add these runningboards.
PLEASE be honest. The girlfriend already said no go on rock sliders she says, "They wont help me get into your car, their still high." so I decided that Westin nerf bars would be a good substitute. These:

They are also on sale on westinshop.com. They are $213 w/free shipping. Their originally like $450. Should I do it?

its all personal preference I personally would get a rock slider and weld a step onto it kind of like this, they are stronger, look better and serve more than one purpose but that's my opinion bud

if you are running a body lift there will be a gap because they bolt onto the frame. the smittybilt ones im running are mounted on the body the same way oem running boards are installed.

Well i can fab an extended mounting bracket for them, i also want them tight to the car. And I know sliders would be sick, i just dont have rocks in my area so no real need. Westins properly mounted might be of more use. But thank you for your comments guys!

these are almost identical to what i showed you....Not really a rock slider, but designed like one and will last longer, be stronger, look better, than plastic running boards.. i say go for the ones you just posted on the black one. they will work great if you need steps for your girl, but could get you hung up offroad, im going for real sliders just because i enjoy watching my wife try to get in my runner with a mini skirt on :lmao:

@ rm2fast: Haha! I know. I figured they were the same, only the 4 door version. And both of the pics I showed you were black but I know which ones your talking about. I like them too and understand for your application. Im hoping they will look good!

@ KnoxRocks: I already have the factory limited running boards for my truck. I am looking for new tube style or slider style running boards to go on my rig. Thank you though.

I like those Westin ones. Fightman has them installed on his truck. It was actually between them or sliders for me, I'm going to go with sliders though.

My vote is for the sliders with some type of step if you really need it.

I know you said you don't really have rocks near you but the hang down steps can get hung up if you do actually come into contact with something. Not quite as bad as what happens to those Westins if you clip a tree or something else hard on one of the ends.

If you must have running boards, I'd just stick with the stock ones. Nerf bars will get destroyed by offroading just as quickly as stock running boards, but at least the stockers look like they "belong" on the truck.

Just get your gf a step ladder.

:edit:Maybe just get one of these for the passenger side and remove it whenever you need to do any serious offroading?

Ditto. Stick with stock unless you are getting sliders. The removable steps are a great idea too.

If you want them tight to the body of your Runner, just get sliders (can get them from 4xInnovations for like $170) & weld them up so that the slider is flat (instead of angled up). That will give you:
1.) A step
2.) Rocker protection if you offroad (don't have to remove them each time you go), and
3.) You can touch them up with a little rattle can if needed.

But if it's definitely going to be a set of nerf bars, I like the oval style that you first posted, & I would get them in black though like you said. Helps them disappear from the profile of the Runner & doesn't visually take away from the look, IMO.

HAHAHAHA! That's exactly what I was thinking. Except, what I did in this situation was I simply told my girlfriend, no. I took the running boards off, and she has no problem getting in (even though she is short as hell).
