Even though you don't like the Ford, you will continue to drive it for several years. This is what you get when you abandon the 4runner community. You have not served your time yet.

Price and mileage sounds better then what I paid for mine. Mine had 96k miles, sticker price was I think $19k. Everything same as yours but mine is a sport edition, I've been told I paid too much but hey, it was in immaculate condition. Looks and drives like brand new inside and out and had the options I wanted. And plus I bought mine from CarMax so there wasn't any price negotiation I could have done. Either you want or you don't lol
And with a full covered warranty for 3years from CarMax out the door I got it for $22k.
I say jump on it, it sounds like a great deal. Only thing that would make me not jump if it had major rust, and drove like something is wrong. Good luck!

I have a 04 4Runner and a half ton truck (1500 Chevy Silverado) so I feel like I know where you are coming from.

I'm not actually a fan of having to daily drive my Chevy... its a bit big in the city when navigating parking lots and all that crap. The 4Runner feels so much more agile, almost like a sports car in comparison.

That said, there is no way I could dump the truck... it provides WAY too much utility. Its a totally different type of tool... If you need a bed, or need to really tow, its hard to step away from the larger trucks.

That said, it depends on your needs... only you can make that decision. That said, there is always the Tacoma, but I still like the 4Runner more.

If I had to dump it all, truck, atv, and 4Runner... id get a Lexus GX 460 or 470 V8 4x4

If you really want it don't act very enthusiastic but mildly interested, then check it out throughly, take your time, don't rush and check EVERYTHING and then make a much lower offer, I think you can get it for less than they're asking, they will either say no or maybe make a counter offer, and then you do the same until ya'll can meet on common ground that works for both you and the dealer, dealers mark vehicles up alot especially on used cars so they have room to play around with the price.

But in all seriousness, I would jump on it if everything looked ok.
 
Thank you all very much for the input. I'm probably going to go take a thorough look at it either tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully I'll be re-joining all of you soon!
 
I should have gave you the suggested retail dealer price from KBB...$14,208 in excellent condition, but the price for fair market range from good to better is $11,365 to $14,486 with the fair purchase price being $13,106.

If the 4 Runner is a certified vehicle the selling price would be more.

The Toyota dealership near me (Glen Mills, PA) just got in a 2008 Limited with about 80k, Nautical Blue. They were asking more than this but two years newer. Pretty sure it's a V8 as well. Not sure what part of PA you're in, but might be worth a look.

I looked into the timing belt and water pump; according to CarFax the timing belt was "checked" but not replaced... I was going to factor that into my negotiations along with the water pump. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the timing belt on a V8 recommended service around 90k regardless if it "looks good" or not?

Crap, I love that nautical blue. That is also a sharp looking 4runner. Good find. A bit of a drive for me though.
 
I'll never purchase another vehicle from a rust-belt state without a very careful inspection, examining the body and undercarriage, suspension bolts, etc.

Personally, I'd rather pay a more for a similar car from the SW - it's worth flying out to pick it up.
 
I have 2012 F150 Lariat 5.0 company owned work truck that i'm allowed to use for personnel trips. But i alway take 4runner when i have choice, its so much comfortable as a driver (F150 wins hands down as far as the back seat is concerned). What i don't understand is even though it has around 100hp more then my 4.7 4runner it doesn't feel faster.

I agree with this.

It depends if you NEED a truck or if a SUV will do. Is the F150 getting unreliable? I dumped my 2012 F150 back in 2014 because of too many issues with it but I also picked up a light 16' trailer to help replace it that both 4runners can easily pull. If I really needed a truck, I just borrowed my dads truck. It's worked for over 2 years and I haven't really missed having a truck until recently. Now I find myself needing a truck a little more and more so I will probably buy one eventually. 10 years ago there's no way I could've been without a truck.
