Should I replace the sway bar as well?

Yesterday I noticed that the driver side sway bar link had busted loose and upon further inspection Im going to do the other side as well along with the bushings.

But from looking at the pictures should I get a new sway bar as well or can this one be salvaged and just cleaned with a wire brush and some paint?

You can. I'd just pull it off, wire wheel it, and paint it. Most people just take the fronts off, since they're not really needed. I run my rear sway bar still, since the majority of your body roll is going to come from the rear.

Is the tie rod boot wet from driving or is your steering rack leaking?

Looks like the entire underside could use a wire brish and paint. That's some BAD rust!

That sway bar is 3/4 or 1" solid steel. I doubt it rotted through.

Mine was pretty rusty before sanded and repainted it. Now it is fine.

Ill slide the boots back and take a look while changing the sway bar links and bushings.

I replaced mine, but I wouldn't do it again, it's just unnecessary. Take it off, wire wheel it, paint it with some chassis paint that can flex, then put it back on.

Honestly, I would keep the front on as well. Unless you are primarily using it for off-road, you will be more comfortable on-road with it on there.

Get new sway bar bushings. $20 for some good stiffness recovery.
