Shrockworks fender liner trim done wrong?

Just got my Shrockworks bumper and winch installed at a local off-road shop. The fender liner was cut back as per Shrockworks instructions they say, but to me the way it was done leaves a huge opening for mud, water, and debris to fling into the back of the bumper that would coat the rear of the fog lights and turn signals. In messy conditions debris will most likely even get up into and around the battery.

Hopefully these crappy cell phone pics show it well enough... is this trim job correct? To me it would have been better to tuck the liner up into the rear of the bumper.

This is how it should be done from what I see, slice and tuck the liner. So kind of answering my own question here and wish I would have covered this with the shop beforehand. The thing is the shop is trusted and reputable and they have done Shrockworks installs before.

How are you guys running Shrockworks front bumpers doing your trim? Should I now get some replacement fender liners myself and do it the right way?

I'm certainly no expert, but that looks bad.

There isnt a whole lot to work with there since the bumper is in a totally different place, but it looks like they did trim it a bit higher than we have in the past.



I wouldn't waste money getting replacement liners, but instead find some black rubber/plastic sheet that your can trim to make your own liner if you want more coverage.

Looks like something is missing. I see two screw holes, looks like something should go in them.

yea they kinda butchered yours. I didn't do a great job on mine either, and if I could do them again I'd do a better job. Mine kind of more resemble the ones posted by [MENTION=63082]TxBxSx[/MENTION].

I thought the same thing about the holes but I haven't found anyone yet that seems to have utilized those. Even Justin's image shows them not being utilized here.

Edit - hold on, in Justin's image it does look like that liner hole does match up to the bumper doesn't it...

That looks like a hack job of the liner. It looks like they trimmed before having the bumper lined up. IIRC the Shrockworks instructions say that you have to be creative here, but the shop you used cut off too much of the fender liner. I'm no expert, but when I recently installed my Schrockworks bumper I tried to keep a good portion of the liner close to the bumper. I temporarily have a couple of tie straps holding it to the bumper as I'm still tweaking the fit and adding Bilstein 5100s...

As to the holes, that is where the windshield washer bottle skid goes.

Here's how I did my right side (left side is similar). I used black button cap hex head screws provided by SW to attach the liner to the bumper. I also used a piece of scrap from what I cut off to fill in where it wouldn't reach by just pulling.

GrantK I like this and it's ideally the way I was thinking it should be done. At this point it's probably going to be some fabrication on my part with some ABS I think.
