They bolt to the frame using pre-existing threaded holes, or blind nuts on metal strips inserted through a couple holes which currently have plastic plugs. There is only one extra hole that needs to be drilled in the crossmember, and 2 years later I still haven't got round to it so I probably never will. I don't count it as a deal breaker. Sorry but I don't have pre-installation pics. It's about a 2 hour job for 2 people, and we spent 15 or 20 minutes of that figuring out where to put the blind nuts before my nephew spotted the plastic plugs. If you have KDSS the line brackets will have to be loosened and the slider brackets installed under them before reattaching.
I would recommend about a 1/2" longer bolt for the holes that use blind nuts. It would have been much easier getting them started with a longer bolt.

I was able to complete mine in just over 2 hours working solo. Keep the box they shipped in, it will be your best friend when positioning the sliders. A block of wood, and your OEM jack will be handy to have nearby by for positioning and help holding things in place. I highly recommend, as many others have mentioned in various threads, do this with a mostly empty tank of fuel, and keep that jack handy for supporting the fuel tank when you unbolt the skid. The jack, along with a large socket, I forget what size i used, can be used to put pressure on the tank strap through a hole in the skid, making life a lot easier come time to bolt everything back together. Start with the passenger side, there is less stuff in the way. I did choose to drill / bolt into the cross member, it is fairly painless, and can be done (carefully) once everything else is in place. You can touch up any drilled areas with some black automotive enamel.

not at all! thank you for the pics. I am actually trying to compare the C4 to the shrockworks. It looks like the C4 sliders have more attachment points to the vehicle compared to the shrockworks. Thanks again for the bad ass photos.

Passenger side.
Front: 2 side bolts no problem, 2 bottom bolts to cross member - not drilled on 16 trail; will get to it one day maybe.
Rear: 2 side bolts - drilled but not threaded. PAIN. One bottom bolt - drilled but not threaded. PAIN.
If I had to do it over, I would research other options more closely. Not Shrockworks fault Toyota changed the way they do the frames, but other slider makers may have better attachment methods.

great build thanks for the photos. How do you like them??
They saved my ass (and my truck) when a communication gap between the wife and I dropped the passenger front wheel in a culvert (no honey, that's not a curb).
Paid for themselves and then some in just one go. They look good, and while I've not shot at them, I'll gladly use it the phrase "bullet proof".
Nothing but thumbs up and I would buy them again.

Wow. Seeing this thread makes me glad I got the CBI sliders. Plenty of factory bolt holes used and not a single issue during the install. I am rather surprised that the holes don't match up (for whatever reason be it Toyota changing locations vs Shrockworks not updating/matching). My only gripe (if you want to call it that) about the CBI's was the rather large holes punched into the mounting flange relative to the size of bolts.
