Shudder

Drain and fill … drive it once or twice … drain and fill again … drive it once or twice … drain and fill again and you should be good. Cost you $75 or less.

Had the transmission fluid exchange service performed today. Only drove about 25 miles but so far it shifts like warm butter. Time will tell.

you said it shifted fine before... but is the shudder gone or better? did they do a full fluid exchange, what did it cost & did they use WS?

It shifted fine prior, but I can tell it's even smoother now. Shudder seems to be gone, but my XREAS shocks are shot and it's really hard to tell the difference between the shudder and shitty suspension components. They did a full fluid exchange. Looks like they used 12 quarts total using WS (and added the bottle of Wynn's Shudderguard I provided). I had it done at the dealer so I got the full-value corn-holing on price - $269 - but I wanted to make sure it was handled by a competent Toyota tech who knows these transmissions and not someone who's a generic ASE.

Getting the entire suspension replaced next week with Fox 2.5s, OME springs, new UCAs and LCAs so that will give me a lot more info.

hope it improves or eliminates the shudder for you. & improving the shift is proof that new fluid makes a difference even at that high of miles... some on here seem to think WS is "lifetime" fluid & doesnt need to be changed or will damage the trans if you change it at high miles. LOL!

$270 isnt "that" bad of a price for a full exchange, 12qts of WS is over $100 at most dealers so the rest is the dealer labor & worth the price for them to check fluid level properly if you cant or dont want to mess with it.
