Side emblems

I've searched but can't find the right pic I'm looking for. All 4th Gen. Canadian 4Runners are 4x4's (4x2 is not an option) so Toyota took the cheap route and left off the "4WD" or "4x4" emblems. I would like to add these but the dealers here don't know what I'm talking about (no surprises there!) I've looked on Ebay and other places but can't find them. Can someone post a close-up pic of the door emblem on a US model SR5 4x4? Then I'll have something to take to the dealer.
Thanks in advance.

you probably will have to get the US emblems since the CA dealers cannot get any.

im in the same boat, since the hood protector i want is only available in CA and not in the US.

so i have to go up to CA and buy one at a CA dealer. probably run up to brandon and pick one up when i get a chance.

Holy crap, that really is cheap! I'm no efficiency expert but I would have thought it would cost Toyota more to spend the time figuring out which 4Runners were going to Canada v. the U.S. and training the workers or programming the robots to not put the 4X4 badge on Canadian bound 4Runners :D

.

i ordered the valor tip from basil toyota in buffalo new york...it was shipped same day and i received it in 2 days....just to let you know i had a good experience with them if you want to order from them...i live in niagara falls ontario...

not really gg, since CA specs runners require different safety items than the US versions if i remember correctly. only one i can remember off hand is that the headlights have to be on all the time.

dont live in CA so i cant be really sure, have to ask a canuck, A!!

j/k from a former wingnut.

I'd consider selling you mine if you want. make me an offer.

I debadged my truck and i was just going to stick them on my toolbox.

They also have the formfit hood protector. My brother is in Washington state and he is looking into it for me. I'll let you know if I'm able to secure one from them.

Thanks for all the replies.

Pribilof: Your pic didn't come through. Any chance of retrying? Any others have pics? Is the emblem "4WD" or "4x4"?

NoDak: The Canadian (not CA "California") DRL's are brighter front turn signals, not fulltime headlights like in the past. There are other differences in vehicle "packaging" vs. US models (ie. the SR5 to SE difference is ~ $4,000 worth of items) so changing the emblem configuration is only minor, eh (not "A"!!)

Toybox: Can you post a pic? How would I reattach them?

ps Awesome truck, rides great!

I won't be able to post a picture until tomorrow. The emblem is "4WD" Home Depot will have some kind of 3M adhesive stuff or an auto body suppy shop will have the right stuff.

i had my parts manager call burien toyota, and the person on the other end had no clue about the form fit item. heck i even showed the thread to my toyota parts dealer so he could get me one.

he was able to get me one for about $95 USD from a CAN dealer.

It's not really a Canada/U.S. thing.. just a matter of manufacturer availability... I'm seeing more of the low profile full deflectors on the new 4runners in my area... I haven't made the switch but am considering it.
