So I've searched and searched on the forum, tons of advice and conflicting opinions. Bottom line is I have a '13 SR5 4x4 4Runner, and am looking for something to help facilitate getting in/out of the truck without constantly sliding over the outer edge of the drivers seat. Needless to say she would appreciate the step assist on her side as well. I've already ruled out most of the nerf bars as either they hang too low or just plain look cheesy. I love the look of the sliders, but don't want to cut my rocker panel and am not looking at weld-ons. And for the bolt ons, I've seen some that would work (Rocky Ridge) but they don't seem to offer an adequate foot step. So, what say you guys? I appreciate your input and any photos as well, thanks.

Rock rails are not steps. You can put skateboard tape on them, but they're not meant for helping you get in and out--since most fit flush with the truck. You can get outrigger style ones that stick out and weld a step to them.
The N-Fabs are for Trail Edition only, not for SR5, otherwise those would be the ticket. Yes, I'm aware that sliders are not steps although I've seen lots of posts where people reference using them as steps (with skateboard tape usually for grip). Why don't you simply add running boards? If you leave the factory rocker panels on, add the "slider" below that and the step lower than the slider; what's the point? Sounds like you might actually be reducing ground clearance beyond what running boards would do.
When you lower the sliders that far and have the steps on them you may actually have enough leverage where it may not hold the truck like true sliders would.
If you are not planning on offroading the truck, you may want to take a closer look at running boards as there are a couple selections for those now as well.

Well then, you are in luck! There is someone on here who makes the spaces to mod them to fit the SR5/LE 4R's. Simple but ingenious design. If you like those, which it seems you do, get the spacers, install the N-Fabs and be happy!
I run the Rocky Road sliders with the 'bump out rail' which I then padded out a little extra and have 3M grip tape on. They help my wife in/out of the 4R, but they do not stop me from sliding on/off the seat. You would need larger 'bump outs' (which a few companies now make) or go with the N-fab step.

I bought Rocky Roads and welded my own steps to them...bashed them off plenty of stuff..they work great.

Contact Ride, aka Mark, he makes the spacers to make them work on SR5s and limiteds. He had the N-Fabs on his until he started wheeling.

I want the n-fab stainless steel sliders with drop steps... but they don't have a SS option for 4runners... wtf. Would buy today.

This thread and many of the other slider threads have really been helpful. I can flip-flop daily as to what I want to get, so the more pictures I can see and info I can get, the better I'll be able to choose.
As of today, right now, I'm going with the Demello Hybrid sliders. I really like the looks of many of the others, particularly the Metal Tech :decision: , but a photo of 5Gen silver TE on another thread that showed me exactly what my truck would look like with the Demello, and the fact that I'm going to SoCal in a couple of weeks and can pick them up from the factory, Demello is my choice. At least for today. When they are actually installed, I'll be locked in.
