^^Spot on^^ The best looking 5th gen by far was the silver '10-'13 Trail. I wanted to get that color in 2010 but we were trading a silver Sport edition and wifey didn't want the same color as the one we just had so we went with MG and the black fender flares barely showed the contrast. I was hoping the black fender flares would come back towards the end of the run. Now we have an '18 TRD classic silver and it looks a little blah.

I agree!

Though I may be biased as I just bought one a month ago, haha.

A little late to the 5th gen game in picking up a 13 now, but I absolutely love it. I obsessed over getting a JKU for the longest time, but came to the conclusion it wasn't exactly for me. Decided a 5th gen T4R was better suited to what I was going to use it for. Then thought maybe a 3rd gen T4R was the way to go to be more budget friendly, but couldn't find one in New England that didn't look like it came off the Titanic. Moved on to looking for a 1st gen Sequoia, but same problem.

Decide screw it, lets look at 5th gens. Was concentrating on 14+, a friend has a 12 SR5 and I was not a fan, looked too much like a LTD to me.

I just happened to spot this 13 Trail, and I LOVED the look! I've never seen one up until seeing this one, and I liked everything about it.

The wheels, the black details, the roof rack, the non-predator front end, and it also has a sunroof with cloth seats, and the rear slide out deck. I also like the gauges as compared to the same year SR5.

Anyway, I was super stoked to find it, and I love driving it. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it already too.

It's all stock now, but I'm currently shopping for AT's and skids.

EDIT: Just realized the one in the post right above this one looks exactly like mine, save for the tires and skids, haha.

Great photos and inspiration for a new owner. I didn't notice this when I bought my T4R; but looking at these photos, the silver color really shows off the beefy lines of the bodywork the best.

FWIW, there's no color I dislike (and the limited colors are all very good) but the lower-contrast dark colors definitely seem to hide the nice bodywork a lot more.

Here's a pic of my 4Runner next to my brother's Evo 8.

I got silver because I figured the scratches and dings wouldn't show up as bad.

Definitely still a work in progress and made some pretty newbie mods on it like plastidip and American Flag decals, but I do intend on getting a 3" lift, some Falken 275s, SCS F5 rims in black, ExtremeLED light bar, and waiting on a custom fabricated roof rack from some good people down in SoCal.
