Sirius with JBL

Can someone without Sirius tell me what your JBl radio does when you hit the SAT button?

I just bought a 06, it had a Sirius antenna on the roof that was cut. I'm wondering if they had an internal or external unit. I did look under the seat for the tunner but didn't find anything.

When I hit the sat button it flashes 'antenna' which makes me think the tunner could be behind the dash or somewhere out of site.
