Sliders? For a Limited? Tell me more!

Jumped from a 3rd Gen to a Tundra to now a 5th Gen LE and recently removed the stock rigid step bars. Now that its been this way a few days, I can feel the difference that little boost makes but I hate the look of the rigid boards.

Besides the look, I found that they tend to hoard mud in all the cracks and crevices... I like the fact that sliders stand off from the body and dont hold the dirt.

Now Im seeing these sliders? Best info I can gather from reading all the posts is that either they wont fit the LE at all or I have to mod/replace the rocker panel to get a good fit.

Is there a slider that needs no mod for a LE? Or what else is available without mod??

Right but the OP was asking for a slider that required NO mods. You replaced your rocker with the TE trim.

OP, you have two choices for a slider that requires no mods.

1) Metal Tech OPOR Limited Sliders. Bolts right up, no mods. They are running a group buy right now for some extra savings.

2) Rocky Road Supersliders. No cutting required but due to xreas you might have to add a few washers here and there to make room for the xreas hard lines. It also doesn't provide much of a step either so if you wanted one to at least be able to use as a step I would avoid this one.

I'd go with the Metal Tech OPORs and take advantage of the savings (until aug 14) while you can as well.

There is a slider thread/sticky !!!! But if you're trying to keep it limited styling I would go with Randy Ellis Design . :tape:

The Metal Tech OPOR sliders work on a Limited without modification.

I second OPOR. [MENTION=74122]Cuffs[/MENTION], if you want a no fuss well made slider then the MT OPOR is a great buy. The deal that they have right now is a great time to get them. I purchased the MT trail slider (non-opor) and ended up paying over $700 shipped to my door. They are an excellent slider, but if you can get them at a discount, I would do it. MT makes a great product

If you ever plan on lifting it in the future, it would be best to do it right the first time and replace your rockers and than your choices are endless for sliders.

You will gain 3 inches in clearance, roughly, by change out the rockers alone.

If you want to see the difference, look at my thread. I originally purchased whit knuckle off road sliders and kept the LE rockers.

Do it right the first time...

I put Shrockworks sliders on my LE, using the TE rocker trim. Looks great and works perfectly. I have skidded across rocks and ledges on the sliders with no damage to side panels, all I did when I got home was to grind down the rough spots on the sliders and paint over. If you are putting sliders on to use them you want to maximize the clearance, so using design that rides higher makes sense.

Did you have to swap out the white knuckles when you made the TE modification, or was that just preference? I'm not ready to get rid of my LE trim just yet, but hoping to find a slider solution that will work for both if I decide to in the future. Thanks!

I removed white knuckle when I changed the trim, otherwise was happy with white nuckle.
