Got my 08 4Runner a few weeks ago. I replaced the deck with a Pioneer 5600BHS because the factory was would randomly turn off. Was great for a few week until last week the tweeter starting making an awful noise. I want to slowly replace the speakers but try and keep the stock amp for now. If it blows I will replace it down the road. I read the stock front speakers are 2 ohm and are separate from the tweeters. This is where I get slightly confused as I read that putting in tweeters and using stock wiring will not work well, and to use component system instead. If I do this I assume I use the stock speaker wiring in the main speaker door, but does this have a filter on it too, or will hooking up the component crossover to it work?
I think I have settled on the Infinity 6030CS for the fronts. They advertise them as a 2 ohm, but can work on any system safely. I am no crazy sound person, I dont need anything crazy, but like good clean sound at a mid volume kinda thing.
