Found a 2010 GX460 in my price range and it's got me thinking of switching just to be different.
I would not.
Thoughts, besides the lack of after market support and the whole 'Don't Buy' by CR.
Lexus parts and repairs are much more expensive than a Toyota. Lexus has also done their best to stop/prevent Toyota dealers from ordering Lexus parts and working in Lexus cars/trucks.
Also the more electronic stuff the more that can go wrong. Remember that stupid computer controlled AC unit in your 2002? The plain old sliders don't wear out.
The GX460 is mechanically identical with the exception of the v8 to the 5th gen 4Runner, and has for the most part nearly all the same electronics, so I don't know what you think is different between them.
The cost of Lexus parts versus Toyota parts.
That is also real common for aluminum. I originally had an aluminum front skid on my red truck and that same thing happened.
See of you can find a guy to TIG welded it, that looks like aluminum MIG.
