I actually store my truck, wife's car and my motorcycle in one. Heated and air conditioned too.

I did the same thing a few years ago with my wife's Prius and ripped off the spoiler. The worst part was we were leaving to drive 150 miles to Chicago to catch a flight. Luckily we were leaving pretty early and stopped real quick at the Toyota dealer. They taped it back on and made sure it was water tight to sit in a parking lot for 5 days. No one to blame but myself.

Fixing the lift gate is a lot cheaper than divorce I suspect, not to mention the fringe "benefits" of marriage.

Glued 3 pieces of Styrofoam pipe insulation to the garage door, works great, don't have to remember anything to protect the tailgate.
I once attempted to back the RAV4 out of the garage with the door down. Only scratched the spare tire cover a little but I bent the door out a little. Tried to bend it back in but that didn't work because it was going to damage the rails and rollers. I'm blaming that one on Sam Adams.
Was going through McDs drive thru with my mountain bike on top of my Honda Element and obviously forgot it was there. Hit the "clearance only..." sign and the bike was hanging down on the side of the Element. A woman...not my wife I might add.. behind me yelled " your bike!! " I yelled back, " why didn't you yell sooner!" Nothing broke on the bike and not a scratch on the Element and I had to replace a Yakima strap was all. I'm blaming the woman behind me for that one.

Thanks bud. Did the tailgate come painted? I'm wondering if I can't just take the ins check and do all the work myself. I cleaned up the tailgate and buffed off the .... house paint.
hwell: from the points where it hit and you can hardly even tell it's got dents. I'd almost bet one of those dent pro guys could flatten it out and I can just put the new parts back on.OUCH. I did the same thing a couple weeks ago. Got all the plastic parts and tried to put them back on but the door is tweaked. Its going to take about five days in the body shop to pop it out and maybe another week if they have to replace it. I won't ever move that vehicle with the hatch open again. :wacko:

I dont believe it does. I think its the black primer and they paint matched it to the quarters etc.
Saw the 1994 RX7 in your signature. Loved that car. My wife had a 94 back when we were early 20s. Racing beat intake/ full exhaust, the car ripped!!! Now I have a 4runner preppin for kids!

My wife is always on time, and can be equally annoying. trust me on that.
I`ve had a habit of leaving liftgate up and closing garage door on it. repainted it once after scratching it multiple times and installed buzzer in back door light fixture so it`s loud when it`s open to remind me to close it.

Hey man dont let the little things get to you. I used to always get upset at the wife for being late or moving my 21 window bus and getting mixed up between 1st and R (she ended up going into the cabinets on my garage breaking the window and frame) dinged my STI in our garage because she had to get soooo close to the wall. But after everything we laugh about it and even though she can be special at times it makes for great stories lol.

i think i've posted this before to someone else who had a high deductible, but have you priced a lower deductible?
Changing my comprehensive to $50 deductible and collision to $250 only cost me an extra $8 per month. That's less than netflix, even if i didn't have a claim in the 4 years it took to pay for itself i'd still be fine spending that.
(although i've definitely had claims, I use the hell out of my $50 comprehensive deductible, on the BMW I had road rash and minor scratches repaired 4 or 5 times)

The rubber at the bottom of our garage door got all ripped up after freezing to the ground after an ice storm a few years ago. I couldn't find a replacement that would fit, so I made my own out of a 1" thick stall mat from TSC. It cost about $30. I cut it into strips and screwed it to the bottom of the door. When we raise the tailgate of the 4Runner it bumps nicely into the rubber.
