Has anyone successfully mounted a smittybilt 2781 compressor on board under your hood? Any insight would be great. If so are there any mounting brackets available? I haven’t been able to find anything on this. Thanks
I have a 2018 and it seems like the only place would be in the top left where people usually mount the viair 400 compressors however the smittybilt one I think is too big. thanks for the replies though. I’ll check out the bandi Mount
I have done similar setup already for the Viair 400p. I use my standard ARB twin compressor mount and add some bolt on brackets to allow for the compressor of your choosing, which in the future, you could go to the ARB.... plus this allows for the optional tank and/ormanifolds too....

Does this setup allow installation of a small tank under the bracket?
Perfect to see this! I think I’m gonna do that option with the smittybilt it should count perfectly it seems like. My only concern was the smittybilt was 5 inches longer or so.I have done similar setup already for the Viair 400p. Yeah I’m going to rig it up at work with a pressure switch probably and also switch out all the fittings on the smitty because it comes with those lame ones anyway so I’ll make it more universal that wayOP, please post up what you decide to do when you install it. I'm interested to see what you do.
Will you be adding a pressure switch to your 2781?
I installed a flow-through euro-style (clip on) chuck this year, and it's been great. I keep the compressor running the entire time I do 4 or 8 tires. It's as hot as a cannon when I'm through though.... which makes it a pain to load back in that tiny bag. So it has moved to a larger duffel bag, which takes up even more space in the back.

I mounted mine under the hood. It works great. I made a bracket that attached in 3 places. I used 2 existing screw holes and added a rivnut. It was still shaking around a bit so I later added an aluminum brace that attached to the top of the compressor and it’s been solid. the air connection comes out in the passenger wheel well.
Not sure yet, I have a lot of options at work but I’m going to post up the details once I get it in I've been looking to switch out the forms as well. Do you have a lead on what you're looking at?

Badass bro. I really like that! I think I’m gonna go with the bandi mount because I am too lazy to make a bracket hahaI mounted mine under the hood. It works great. Is that the 2781? Or 2780 you have mounted?I mounted mine under the hood. It works great. I made a bracket that attached in 3 places. I used 2 existing screw holes and added a rivnut. Damn! Super cool! I’m really impressed that you got it to fit in there and made your own bracket work too! I’d love to see more pics man! I really want to figure out how to get this damn thing installed in my rigIt’s the 2781. There isn’t a ton of clearance but it fits. I took the base plate off the compressor and mounted the feet to my home made tray. Sorry I don’t have better pictures. If you want another angle Let me know, I can go take some.
