Snorkel Help

safari snorker

installed yesterday went pretty smooth will be posting pics soon it looks awsome and fender flares fit, no need to trim them,power antenna motor didnt work so we just cut it out and it all fit perfect i did not use the tacoma intake tube we used 2"fernco fitting and modified"with a sawzaw" my intake pipe used 2"pvc and a coupling and the fernco and some silicone sealant and screw clamps took about 120 minutes including 2 seperate runs to homedepot

Resurrecting an old thread. I will be getting a snorkel soon.

many things I'm concerned about besides looking baddddd sass is that the transmission and front diff have the ability to get water in them....

any way to better protect your auto trans or extend the front diff breather up higher than the engine?...

already extended the rear diff breather high enough...

not to mention water coming in through the doors....

however. this thread was intended to help with locating the correct snorkel.....

so everyone post their links to a tacoma snorkel please?

Maintenance is the key here. Anytime that I go through as much water as we saw on this trip, I change fluids in my diffs and transfer case. I will also be replacing tranny fluid and changing engine oil after this trip.

I will be looking into extending the front diff and transfer case breathers to a higher location. Likely just under the hood on the firewall.

Time spent in and depth of the water is the determining factor in whether or not water will make it's way inside. In most cases continuous movement through the creek will help with preventing water from pressuring past the door seals. That said... there are no guarantees.

I've been looking at those. The T4R in front of me in the video bought a similar snorkel for his. The fit on the fender isn't perfect, but it still looks and functions great. Only the extremely anal would notice the imperfect fitment. It's purely a cosmetic issue.

My only advice on this snorkel is double check the template against the snorkel before drill any holes, there is a really good write up on here about the install ( I'm on my phone and not smart enough to know how to post a link from it sorry ).
Front diff breather is nearly impossible to get to with the diff installed if I rem correctly, how ever it is easier than the rear in that it is already extended some originally and all you have to do is add to it.
