snorkel help!

Hello everyone, it has been forever since I have been on the forms and I am now going to become more active. I have done a little research on a snorkel for my 2000 sr5 sport. I wanted t get everyone's opinion on what all of you think is the best one. so if you would please post links along with comments that you have. I will be installing the snorkel myself, thanks!

I believe the only snorkel that will fit our 4Runners is the ARB Safari snorkel for the toyota tacoma.

You don't need no stinking directions. Forge on... Be one of the proud, the brave and the few.

Try it. Worst that can happen is that it sun fades and detorates.

I think it should. 5VZFE engines has its air intake on the right side (even 2000 prado with 5vzfe has right side intake).
Few weeks back I bought a snorkel for Hilux LN 106 series for $120 shipped from China! It is in very good condition and feels solid even though it is unbranded and from China! (same seller sells safari snorkel identical in every way to the one I bought but listed at $270).

the ARB/Safari Snorkel is nice, but just know its not made for our trucks so it wont fit perfect... the fender lines between the Tacoma and 4runner are different enough that it creates gaps. you will need the Tacoma prefilter extension tube though, but it does work great.

that ebay snorkel looks like the one John (jmt 2404) had on his runner. the place he got his no longer sells that snorkel so i cant help there. but his was a little different design than the ARB/Safari Snorkel

the install is pretty easy if you take your time and double check everything. if you can wait, id recommend looking for a used one, both me and Ryan (ryankmasuda) have found ours on classifieds for dirt cheap.

I bought mine from a different seller on ebay but it looks just like that one in the ebay link above. The quality seems alright but ive yet to install it. It does appear to have some small holes in the tube but I'm going to fill it with water to see if it leaks before I drill any holes.

i have had my safari snorkle on for three plus years. have had no problems at all. just make sure you seal everything up good. mine was brand new and came with directions and a template. pretty strait foward

I went onto Ebay ready to buy that snorkel and it was gone! I'm betting one of you guys snatched it up.

I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but I believe Sherpa 4x4 also makes snorkels that fit numerous years of Toyota Prado (4Runner).
